15. Idle Hands (1999)

"Idle hands are the devil's playthings" indeed in this wild, goofy comedy-horror starring Devon Sawa (of Final Destination fame) as a teenager whose hand develops an inexplicable thirst for murder.

A madcap blend of blood, gore, and silly comedy, Idle Hands goes from satirising one genre to the next without taking pause, making fun of zombies, serial killers, magic, and stoner comedies of the era with an almost manic energy.

Aided throughout by its talented young cast of future comedy legends, including Seth Green as a guy returned from death as a zombie with the bottle that killed him still embedded in his skull, Rodman Flender's bonkers dose of escapism is exactly what it wants to be, which is why - silly as it may be - it works so well. 

Idle Things is high on action and higher on broad humour, and it makes for a riot of a good time.
