This is the most personal movie Ive made and could be the most personal movie I'll ever make" said Jason Reitman last night during a Q & A session for Up in the Air, his first directing effort since Juno which he premiered at the same theatre, during the same festival in 2007. It's an interesting comment, not least alluding to the idea that he won't ever step into his father's shoes and helm Ghostbusters 3 (which is surely the most personal movie he could ever possibly make) but for the fact that at movie no. 3 he has gone personal, the same as Judd Apatow (Funny People) and one movie earlier than both, Gregg Mottola (Adventureland) this year. And the collective word on the film is good. Very, very good. /film, AICN and First Showing combined yesterday to give a quick video blog review of the movie, fittingly up in the air on a gondola...
