20 Insane Upcoming Movies You Won't Believe Are Real

18. The Sheep Detectives

The Sheep Detectives is a mystery comedy based on Leonie Swann's hit 2005 novel Three Bags Full, where a group of sheep leave their meadow for the first time while trying to solve the sudden demise of their beloved shepherd George (Hugh Jackman).

That's a barmy premise and one made all the better by the ludicrously stacked cast.

In live-action form, we'll see Emma Thompson, Nicholas Braun, Nicholas Galitzine, Molly Gordon, Hong Chau, and Conleth Hill, while the sheep will be voiced by the likes of Bryan Cranston, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Chris O'Dowd, Regina Hall, and Patrick Stewart.

It somehow gets even stranger than this, though, as the script has been penned by Craig Mazin, best known for creating the uber-serious HBO series Chernobyl and The Last of Us.

Then again, Mazin did start his career as the co-writer of Scary Movie 3 and 4 before directing the long-forgotten Superhero Movie, so a return to broad studio comedy shouldn't feel completely out of left field.
