20 Actors About To Give AMAZING Performances In Horror Movies
11. Mikey Madison - The Masque of the Red Death
The Masque of the Red Death is a radical new adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe's beloved short story of the same name, centered around a prince who tries desperately to avoid the titular plague by hiding out in his abbey.
This new take is said to be darkly comedic in nature while gender-flipping the original concept, with Mikey Madison cast to play twin sister protagonists in a story that involves "orgies, opium, power schemes, revenge and decapitations."
Madison ended up replacing Sydney Sweeney in the role due to scheduling conflicts, and it's easy to see her as a massive upgrade considering the enormous range she's shown throughout her career so far, not to ignore her Best Actress Oscar win for Anora.
It's always fun watching actors play dual versions of themselves, and few are likely to complain about getting two Mikey Madison performances for the price of one, especially with rising filmmaker Charlie Polinger (The Plague) in the director's chair.
