20 Upcoming Horror Movies That Are Already DOOMED

6. The Conjuring: First Communion

Though the mainline Conjuring franchise reached its apparent end point with last year's The Conjuring: Last Rites - which will be the final entry starring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga - it also made far too much money for Warner Bros. to simply leave the brand alone.

And so, a prequel film was swiftly announced, which faces the enormous hurdle of finding two actors who can persuasively fill the shoes of Wilson and Farmiga as younger versions of Ed and Lorraine Warren.

Though Last Rites seemingly pulled this off with its prequel prologue sequence which featured Orion Smith and Madison Lawlor in the roles, it was recently confirmed that the parts have been bafflingly recast for First Communion, with Garrett Wareing and Amanda Fix now playing Ed and Lorraine.

The film categorically will not work if audiences don't buy Wareing and Fix as the duo, which coupled with James Wan reportedly not producing the film due to a pay dispute doesn't paint the most encouraging picture moving forward.
