20 Upcoming Movies That Have Made ONE Big Mistake

16. Recasting Kylie - Practical Magic 2

Though fans initially rejoiced when a sequel to cult classic romantic fantasy film Practical Magic was announced, a good sliver of that excitement fizzled when it was confirmed that one key cast member wouldn't be returning.

As production started, it was announced that the role of Sally Owens' (Sandra Bullock) daughter Kylie would be recast, with Evan Rachel Wood being replaced by Joey King.

This left many fans baffled given that Wood is a popular working actress, and by her own admission offered her services for the film only to be told the producers had decided to recast anyway.

It's an especially odd choice given that King is 11 years younger than Wood and wasn't even a year old when the original film was released.

With this sequel being set 25 years after the first, Kylie is therefore supposed to be around 36 years of age, despite King being just 26 when she filmed the part.

And this concern is reflected in the film's trailers so far, where King sticks out like a sore thumb and, above all else, is decidedly less convincing as the daughter of Sandra Bullock than Evan Rachel Wood.
