Let's kick things off with a seriously unexpected sequel.

It was recently announced that Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Housemaid) was in talks to direct a follow-up to 2003's remake of heist classic The Italian Job.

Though the remake was a commercial success, plans for a direct sequel entitled The Brazilian Job ultimately never came to pass, with word going quiet on it by 2010.

Yet Feig is now mounting a new film that's said to succeed the 2003 remake rather than simply wipe the slate clean with another remake.

While few were actively jonesing for a new Italian Job either way, it's an especially odd choice to develop a sequel to a remake that's largely been forgotten by 2026.

And having Feig of all people direct - a filmmaker with an aptitude for comedy but non-existent action chops - makes it even more baffling.

Needless to say, it'd be a shock if the production can coax back the remake's stacked cast, which included the likes of Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron, Edward Norton, and Jason Statham.
