Hollywood just can't help but put the cart before the horse, and that's precisely what's happened with the dubious Fall franchise.

The original 2022 survival thriller, centered around two young women stranded at the top of a sky-high broadcast tower, was an entertaining and commercially successful romp albeit one whose ultra-specific premise seemingly negated the possibility of sequels.

But hardly. The recently released Fall 2: Deadpoint tackled similar vertiginous subject matter with a new set of characters, and though it turned an easy profit against its tiny budget, the consensus was that it fell short of the original.

No matter, though, as Fall 3 was already announced before Fall 2 had even started shooting, with the trilogy-capping installment set to enter production imminently and unite the casts of the first two movies.

Except, considering that Fall 2 grossed less than the first and hasn't been talked about nearly as much, there just doesn't seem to be any real interest in another.

Two films is honestly plenty for something that should've arguably never been an "IP" in the first place.
