Though word of the film's potentially game-changing mid-credits scene was leaked weeks before release, if you don't know what's coming it makes for quite the jolting surprise indeed.
To say that it implies a significant crowd-pleasing possibility for future Venom movies is quite the understatement indeed, enough that even those not massively impressed with Let There Be Carnage - this critic included - may be left intrigued to see what comes next.
There's no need to stick around through 10 more minutes of credits afterwards, though, as there's no post-credits scene to speak of.
Considering the impact of the mid-credits tease, though, it's just as well, because this is all anyone will be talking about.
