"The only question is whether we take a page from the Lord of the Rings guys and try to shoot the two chapters at the same time. There are two more in mind...The Chronicles of Riddick was presented as a three part trilogy that would answer Pitch Black in the same way that Lord of the Rings answered The Hobbit. The Chronicles of Riddick flopped domestically to a $57 million gross in 2004 and needed it's worldwide taking to pass the budget of $105 million by about $10 million. Vin Diesel remains committed to bringing the universe back to the screen, claiming the big gap between the last one is simply because they want to do it right. I didn't see The Chronicles of Riddick when it came out... I very much doubt I will see any more movies in the series. Actually at this point, I've yet to see a Vin Diesel movie in the cinema.
