8. Hivemind

Samara Weaving has established herself as one of her generation's most iconic scream queens, but her new film Hivemind marks quite the left turn from her usual fare.

Weaving will be joined by Succession's Nicholas Braun in this new movie from Irish filmmaker Ciarán Foy (Sinister 2, Eli), which revolves around the evolution of a new breed of killer wasps and the small-town authorities who try and stop a global outbreak.

Killer wasp movies are nothing new, but rarely do they escape the C-movie dungeon and attract actors as talented as Weaving and Braun. Even with the film being teed up for a direct-to-streaming release on Amazon Prime, that's some commendable star power.

It'll certainly be interesting to see what sort of tone the film ends up striking, though given the generally serious-minded nature of Foy's previous films, it's probably going to follow suit.
