4. 4 x 4: The Event

4 x 4: The Event is the new film from director Alexander Ullom, who recently made quite a splash with his micro-budget feature debut It Ends.

Not one to rest on his laurels, his follow-up sounds absolutely wild, following eight people who compete in a live-streamed fight to the death in which combatants can only use weapons and objects which they're able to order online and have delivered.

That's certainly a fun riff on the death game formula, seemingly serving up a savage satire of modern convenience culture at the same time.

Curiously the film has been described as a fusion of Battle Royale, Saw, and most surprisingly of all Gaspar Noé's Climax. 

And in case you're somehow still not sold, Ullom has also amassed quite the eclectic cast, with the ensemble including Sophia Lillis, Dylan Minnette, Maddie Phillips, Jaden Smith and Jacob Tremblay.

Don't be too surprised if this ends up being a major breakout for Ullom and only catapults him towards even bigger things.
