Why Captain Marvel Will Forever Change The MCU
2. Her Powers Are Like Nothing We've Seen
The MCU has already had some pretty serious power players over the years. Thor, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange and Star-Lord (in fully powered form anyway) have all been pretty close to God-like levels and there have been some villains with even more formidable power sets.
According to Kevin Feige, Captain Marvel is going to be on another level entirely, which is really quite the claim. Avengers 4 writers Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus have previously said that she "is on a completely different power scale" and her comic book abilities rival those of the Infinity Gauntlet at their most extreme.
Given the rules of escalation, it's probably likely that her arrival will herald the appearance of even more powerful beings. Particularly villains, since she's going to need something to justify her own powers. And that too should draw out more powerful heroes: perhaps including a reformed Adam Warlock and maybe even Sentry (if we're lucky).
