20 INSANE Horror Movie Moments You'll Never Stop Thinking About

11. The Baby on the Beach - Under the Skin

Jonathan Glazer's Under the Skin is packed to the gills with scenes sure to sear themselves onto your retinas, but the most disturbing part of the entire movie doesn't have all that much to do with aliens harvesting the flesh of Scottish men.

Early in the film, a couple drowns at a beach, after which our alien protagonist (Scarlett Johansson) kills and seemingly feasts on a swimmer who attempted to rescue them.

As the alien takes the swimmer from the scene, Glazer lingers on the drowned couple's infant son, who is left on the beach alone.

And when we cut back to the scene later in the middle of the night, the baby is still there, screaming on the beach for his parents, all while being ignored by the motorcyclist alien (Jeremy McWilliams) who arrives to retrieve the dead man's things.

With the tide drawing in, the implication of what's to follow is clear, and it's one of the more purely dread-soaked moments from any horror film this century.
