Wonder Woman In Batman vs Superman Movie Could Be Played By...

By James Garcia /

Quantum of Solace actress Olga Kurylenko... Fast And Furious beauty Gal Gadot... And G.I. Joe Retaliation's Elodie Yung... Have all auditioned to play Wonder Woman in the Batman vs Superman movie, according to various media reports. A fourth female, described as "tall, brunette, athletic and exotic" also was seen walking in to the audition but has yet to be identified. Variety won't go as far as saying the role all three woman have auditioned for is that of the Amazonian goddess (they are hedging their bets it could be a Bruce Wayne love interest) but it seems pretty clear to us that they all fit the bill as DC's most kick-ass superheroine. Indeed the news comes just days after Thor: The Dark World actress Jaimie Alexander (who already plays a very Wonder Woman-esque Lady Sif) hinted that she has been in touch with WB about the film as well, and soon after Greg Silverman's comments about the character which suggested Wonder Woman would appear in the film. Variety notes that due to Alexander's commitments to the Marvel franchise, she won't be considered further for the role in Batman vs Superman movie. Fans have been clamoring (read: begging) for Wonder Woman to appear on film for years, so the fact that it may finally be happening is incredibly exciting. However, it's worth noting that she's a hard character to adapt, and cramming her into an already big film (that will, at the same time, be introducing and rebooting a new Batman) is no easy task. Let's just hope that if she does appear, she's not just shoehorned in for fan service. Then, as if that wasn't enough, El Mayimbe of Latino Review reported the rumour on Thursday that Dick Grayson will be appearing in the film. He stated that he's still trying to confirm it, though Warner Bros. is seeking a "5'10" stuntman trained in martial arts," which points right to Nightwing. This rumour actually feels a bit less far fetched than Wonder Woman appearing, since Dick is so closely tied with Bruce Wayne. Since the Bruce we're going to be seeing on film has been acting as Batman for some time already, it would make sense that he would have already trained Dick Grayson, who may have already left his role as Robin in order to fight crime on his own. He could be a great supporting character in BVS and then land a more prominent role in the eventual Batman standalone film. Fans have been adamantly hoping to see Nightwing in action on the silver screen, so perhaps it's not too far off. Believe it or not, it was only a few months ago now that Zack Snyder set the geek world on fire by announcing that Batman would be facing off against Superman in the sequel to Man of Steel, now set for release July 17, 2015 and tentatively titled Batman Vs. Superman. Since then, we've been given little to no information regarding what the film would entail (it is, after all, nearly two years from release) despite the surprising news that Ben Affleck would be donning the cape and cowl this time around, playing a Caped Crusader who is more battle scarred and tired than we've seen before. Fans have been both outraged and excited about the film almost in equal measure, and the hype is sure to continue to leap tall buildings in a single bound until the film is released. It will, undoubtedly, be one of the biggest comic book films ever released, thanks to the fact that the world's two most recognizable heroes will be sharing the big screen for the very first time. And if reports this week are to be believed, they won't be alone. Batman Vs. Superman arrives in theaters on July 17, 2015, and is to be directed by Zack Snyder and stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White.
