Wonder Woman's World War I Setting Seriously Confirmed Thanks To Additional Leaks

At least part of the film will take place in the past.

Thanks to some enterprising scooper on the set of Wonder Woman, the internet has been gifted a look at Gal Gadot and Chris Pine readying for a scene in obvious period garb. After the Daily Mail broke initial photos on Sunday, @JusticeLeagueNw have shared further images on Twitter. Gadot is rocking that matronly early 20th Century vibe and Pine definitely fits the mould of an off-duty fighter pilot in his leather jacket and flatcap. Also included is a first look at Saïd Taghmaoui (GI Joe: The Rise Of Cobra) and Ewan Bremner (Trainspotting), the latter of which is sporting a kilt in keeping with his Scottish heritage. Take a look at some of the images below. https://twitter.com/JusticeLeagueNw/status/671828221298626560 https://twitter.com/JusticeLeagueNw/status/671826316233211906 The more I see of Gal Gadot, the more I'm convinced she's a good choice for the role; she definitely has that ethereal, Greek goddess look to her, even decked out in World War I garms. And Pine certainly cuts a fine Steve Trevor, doesn't he? I'm also intrigued by the presence of Bremner and Taghmaoui - I had no idea they had been cast, but they'll definitely add a fun, men-at-arms feel to proceedings. It's good to be getting some confirmation on the period setting, as it means Warner Bros. and friends are making at least a token effort and paying homage to the origin story as displayed in the comics. The period movie rumour also states that the second half of the film will be set in the present day, although we'll have to wait for a future round of set leaks before we get confirmation on that. Considering that we know Wonder Woman winds up in the here-and-now for WB's upcoming slate (Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, Justice League, etc), it's not too much of a stretch to believe that they'll take her there in her solo outing come 2017. Wonder Woman is released on 23 June 2017.
