20 Recent Movies EVERYONE Knew Would Suck
18. Outcome
Mere weeks before release, a trailer dropped for Jonah Hill's latest directorial effort, Outcome - a black comedy starring Keanu Reeves as an actor who is blackmailed with a damning video and sets out to make amends.
There was much online speculation about the status of Hill's film considering it was shot in early 2024 and, without any need for time-consuming VFX post-production work, seemed to be taking its sweet time to release.
Though the project was backed by Apple TV, the fact that the streamer didn't give it even a cursory theatrical bow was seemingly quite telling, especially with a star like Reeves as the lead.
This seemed like a film that Apple was going to burn off as quietly as possible because they knew it just wasn't very good, and that's easy to believe with the film now in our rear-view.
Is Outcome the worst film of the year? Certainly not, but it is a messy, muddled examination of "cancel culture," fame, and Hollywood that fails to make much of a salient point about anything.
