X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE IN THE TITLE BUT IT ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!
New title revealed for THE X-FILES 2. Just what are 20th Century Fox trying to convince us?
After a decade of great seasons from one of the 90's absolute best t.v. shows and one feature length movie to boot - just who is left in the world that doesn't believe in this X-Files franchise? If 20th Century Fox don't believe in it. If director Chris Carter doesn't believe. If Mulder and Scully don't - then why has this movie been made? In fact, that's a question I've held for a long time now. The news has come from The Associated Press that the new X-Files movie due out in the Summer will be titled The X-Files: I Want to Believe.

"It's a natural title," Carter said. "It's a story that involves the difficulties in mediating faith and science. 'I Want to Believe.' It really does suggest Mulder's struggle with his faith."Apparently Chris Carter has held the title in mind since day one but didn't get the greenlight from Fox to go with it until recently. It's said the studio wasn't sure whether the title would be marketable and I tend to agree with them. If anything, this title is more a determent to the movie than simply calling it "2". When will movie studio's learn that titles that come after a : grow old very, very quickly. Sometimes, simply calling a movie "2" is just good enough. This is a horrible title.
