John Proudstar was an Apache mutant recruited by Professor X to his second team of X-Men. As Thunderbird, John helped rescue the original X-Men from the living island called Krakoa. But on the first mission following that, Thunderbird was killed in action and is sometimes known as the first X-Man who fell in battle (technically the second if you count the Changeling, who died while impersonating Professor X). James Proudstar was Johns younger brother who blamed the X-Men for his brothers death. He joined Emma Frosts Hellions and sought direct revenge on the X-Men. After realizing he couldnt kill in cold blood, he left the Hellions and returned to his reservation. But shortly after, his tribe was massacred and James then joined X-Force, taking on the name Warpath. During his time with X-Force, Warpath also developed a strong friendship with Siryn, which led to him becoming attracted to her (although she didnt reciprocate). This is ripe for the makings of a love triangle between Warpath, Siryn, and Deadpool. More than that, Warpath also helps add more diversity with a Native American superhero. And after Johnny Depps Tonto, the Native American community is really owed some payback in the form of some proper representation. This time, dont get a white guy of questionable Native American heritage to play the character, especially if hes going to slap a dead animal on his head and speak in pidgin English.
