What a nice guy Bryan Singer is. The friendly film maker has been kind enough to keep us all in the loop with all the ins and outs and comings and goings pertaining to his upcoming X-Men sequel Days of Future Past, including which original cast members will return and that the film will loosely follow the time-travelling comic book arc of the same name. However, despite being extremely forthcoming with info he's remained tight lipped about which classic villain would be making his big screen debut - that is until now. According to an unconfirmed report Singer was recently quizzed over Days of Future Past's big bad and is believed to have revealed far more than he'd liked through his body language and cagey responses. The interview in question was conducted by Bleeding Cool and was actually about Singer's other big movie Jack the Giant Killer. After quizzing Singer about his upcoming remake the chatter inevitably turned to his X-Men follow up and whether Apocalypse (aka En Sabbah Nur) will challenge Xavier and his fellow Mutants in the much anticipated sequel. Here's the excerpt that's got the internet all a fluster. Have a look and judge for yourself:
On hearing the name Apocalypse, Singers face changed immediately but there was no point being timid. Might as well plough ahead with the question. Would he even consider using Apocalypse in the movies? How about in Days of Future Past?

His nervous answer:
I cant tell you

That was most interesting. So I leapt forward and asked if realising the character of Apocalypse would require performance capture.
And now Singer looked even more nervous.

This is how it gets started, when somebody starts piecing the little bits together
The non-verbal communication was even more compelling than what Singer was saying. If I had to bet on it, I would well be seeing Apocalypse in Days of Future Past, and hes probably going to be a performance capture character.

This is by no means confirmation of Apocalypse's involvement and plenty of people have been quick to point out that Bleeding Cool have jumped to conclusions before and been proved wrong so take the news with a pinch of salt for now. Apocalypse was not a part of the original comic book story so we're not sure how he'd fit into the movie unless he's set up for the third movie a la Thanos at the end of Avengers? But how cool would it be if it's actually true? For now though we'll have to be content to continue speculating until further details come to light. X-Men: Days Of Future Past is released at cinemas in July, 2014.
