Because I am only in my early twenties, my first real introduction to the world of the X-Men was through the really wonderful animated 1992 cartoon series where the X-Man Jubilee was a central figure. This cartoon series has been named as one of the reasons why the films were able to get off the ground and really introduced a lot of the world into this universe, especially those who were only children at the time. So, when in the year 2000 the first X-Men film was released, perhaps slightly naively I expected to see this character in the roster. Then again, I also expected to see both Beast and Gambit. Beast and Gambit have since been introduced to the film universe but Jubilee has yet to be. OK, so for all you film buffs out there the character was credited in X2, however only as a very background Xavier School student, so for most of the audience who don't read the credits this fact would have been lost on you. If you are unfamiliar with the character, she became a bit of a side-kick for Wolverine in both the comics and TV Series and has the ability create sparkle like firework plasma from her hands . In the TV series she had a big part to play in their Days of Future Past storyline (which was critically acclaimed) so it's not unlikely that we may see her in the First Class Sequel.

WHO SHOULD PLAY HER: As a Chinese American I would like to see a Chinese or Asian American woman play this role. Considering she was the youngest member of the X-Men in the 90's, the role should really go to an actress in her teenage years (or at least with the ability to pull off such a young age). My suggestion is... Jenna Ushkowitz from Glee fame. Imagine her without the Glee baggage and she could really pull off this role. She is also probably one of the least hated glee cast members and let's not forget Lucas Till (aka Havok) started off in the Hannah Montana movie. It would probably be too much to cast a complete unknown, and Jenna has enough buzz to make her casting a talking point.
