5. Emmitt Otterton
The first victim that Judy is assigned to look into is Mr. Otterton the Otter. His full name is Emmitt Otterton and is itself a reference to a 1970s Jim Henson TV special called Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas. If you've never heard of it, it shouldn't really be too much of a surprise, but Byron Howard confirmed the source of the name.

Incidentally, the florist shop where Emmitt Otterton works is called Flora and Fauna - clearly in honour of the directors' favourite two fairy godmothers in Disney's Sleeping Beauty. Poor Merryweather being left out.
