10 "Confirmed" 2018 Video Game Leaks That Were Total Bull

10. A Full Ikaruga Sequel/Reboot

With a port of the original 2001 game just recently came to current-gen consoles this year, the time seemed right for Sega to finally release a sequel or a reboot for the classic shoot 'em up title. Prospects were looking good, especially following rumblings of a continuation on forums, but as of this moment, Sega doesn't appear to have any real interest in pursuing anything beyond a port.

While sales have been allegedly solid, there isn't a whole lot of certainty in a full-on revival of a 'loved by some, unknown by most' title like Ikaruga. In addition, it's designed like an old-school shooter, but without the marketability or recognizable characters of other retro Sega titles. If there's no major selling point outside of its critical acclaim, then they likely won't feel any ability to rely on it doing well financially.

Sorry Ikaruga fans, but it looks like you'll have to stick with the original 2001 title for the time being.
