For a video game that supposedly lacks so many things, people are certainly ploughing hundreds of hours into Destiny. The secret of its success isn't exactly hard to suss out either - there's literally nothing else like it available anywhere else. By combining their expertise on first-person shooters with MMO-lite features, Bungie invented one of the most addictive strings of code ever conceived. Remove the excessive amounts of grind associated with traditional MMOs and fill the void with terrifically simple upgrade systems and gunplay and you've got an instant recipe for success. Strikes, raids or PvP; regardless of whatever it is you enjoy most about Destiny - there's no waiting around for a team or party politics to consider here. You just log in, choose your poison and spend the next 10 hours of your time having a blast with your fellow Guardians while collecting Strange Coins in the hopes that Xur will finally be selling the Gjallarhorn the next time he shows up.
