4. Super Smash Bros. Melee - Wavedashing

In Super Smash Bros. Melee, wavedashing quickly became infamous, an exploit of the game's physics engine which gives the player executing it a major leg up. Essentially, it allows the player to move extremely quickly while not being bogged down by the inherent vulnerability of dashing, giving the player the chance to completely blind-side their hapless opponent, especially if they're unaware of the glitch themselves. What makes it a force to be reckoned with is that, unlike dashing, it doesn't impede your offensive abilities a single bit, so you can glide around super-fast while also being able to fight. Still, Nintendo became aware of it after an outcry from the competitive community, and this was nixed for the next game, Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
