The SNES has had a number of great RPGs released during its lifetime, such as the Legend of Zelda, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy, and Mario. But within the rich SNES RPG catalogue, there is a diamond in the rough that deserves more attention: Breath of Fire. Whilst Breath of Fire admittedly isn't quite on the level of its contemporary RPGs, like Final Fantasy VI or Chrono Trigger, it still managed to stand out due to its new and interesting take on the whole bildungsroman schtick with a central focus on dragons and demons, a cast of surprisingly deep and well-drawn out characters led by the silent yet cool Ryu, and a uniquely rich medieval-influenced game universe that has anthropomorphic animals. An RPG of this quality would translate quite well to a HD remake as not only will the storyline and characters be richer and better drawn out, but the large game universe is set up for a series of awesome side quests that will help expand the game's mythology and characters. And then there is also the prospect of having incredibly-detailed renderings of dragons fighting on your side. It's understandable why the red bandana and karate gi-wearing Ryu is your focus, Capcom, but can you also give everyone a new adventure featuring your dragon-wielding, blue-haired Ryu, please?
