10 Awesome Video Game Crossovers We Were ROBBED Of
10. Samus Aran in Fortnite
Few games in the modern gaming landscape have been flying the flag for crossovers quite like Fortnite. At this stage they've had everyone from Sabrina Carpenter, to Michael Myers and even a bunch of Mortal Kombat characters getting stuck into the festivities.
So as you'd imagine, there's also been plenty of characters who haven't made it into the game.
One of the most notable is Samus Aran, gaming's first-lady and bounty-hunter extraordinaire, is one such character. Thanks to internal documents that became public during Epic Games' legal battle with Apple, we learned that she was slated to make an appearance in the game's fifth season as one of many Hunters that were introduced, which would put her alongside several other iconic characters like God of War's Kratos, Halo's Master Chief and Street Fighter royalty Ryu and Chun-Li.
Ultimately the plans to feature Samus were scrapped due to Nintendo insisting that she would only be available for the Switch version of Fortnite, which would have greatly limited the amount of people that were able to purchase the character. Epic Games rejected this offer as characters like Kratos and Master Chief, who are owned by Sony and Microsoft respectfully, weren't locked behind exclusivity deals, so they felt that Samus shouldn't be either.
