10 Beloved Video Games You Forgot Never Got Sequels

8. Alan Wake

Hyped up to be the Xbox 360€™s killer app in its early stages, Remedy€™s Alan Wake suffered through a tumultuous development period that saw the game reinvented numerous times, eventually releasing as a massively scaled down version compared to the developers' hugely ambitious original idea. But that didn't stop it from being a fantastic game; part Twin Peaks and part every Stephen King novel ever made, Alan Wake blended a superb sense of atmosphere with spot-on shooting mechanics that resulted in a memorable - if not quite earth-shattering - Xbox 360 exclusive. Unfortunately, considering the hype surrounding it, there was never a chance that Alan Wake could ever live up to the lofty expectations that sky-rocketed during the game€™s development. Although a good game, Remedy€™s new IP wasn't the console-seller Microsoft thought it was going to be.
