10. Darklurker (DS2)

In most boss battles you can summon one or more other people to help you out, but the Darklurker turns the tables on the player.

But in this case, not only are you forced to face the Darklurker solo, with summoning unavailable, but about halfway through the boss will split itself into two, essentially summoning itself.

It’s a rare case of a boss battle being a 2-on-1 in the creature's favour. Additionally, this boss can turn invisible, teleport at will, use portals to make his attacks more accurate and shoot up to six fireballs at you at once.

It’s a nightmare having your own advantage from other boss battles taken away and used against you, and we should count ourselves lucky that this boss was only optional.
