10. Bulbasaur

Bulbasaur may be the least popular of the first three starter Pokémon, but that doesn't mean he isn't an awesome Pokémon.

Easily one of the most recognisable of the first generation, both Bulbasaur and his awesome suite of moves are deserving of a place on this list. Bulbasaur's mix of Grass and Poison moves makes him a great choice for any battle. This level of effectiveness only increases as Bulbasaur evolves, with both Ivysaur and Venusaur being even better battle choices, if a little less memorable.

The only thing that really lets Bulbasaur down is his elemental type. Grass will always be at a disadvantage because this type of Pokémon are usually found early on in each game. Although Bulbasaur may have the most effectiveness at the start of the game, this will slowly fade away as more complicated and powerful Pokémon are introduced.
