10 Best World War 2 Video Games Of All time
10. Call Of Duty: WW2
After three futuristic Call of Duty games that had you wall-running around multiplayer matches and blowing up spaceships, the franchise returned to its roots with the latest sequel, WW2.
While it's not perfect, the developers managed to create one of the most hauntingly beautiful depictions of the war yet. More than just a showcase for the engine though, the campaign has some real bits of genius hidden between all of the rote cliches of the sub-genre, with standout missions that have you going undercover in a Nazi headquarters or rescuing a group of civilians elevating the material massively.
It's the way that the devs captured the feel of the era that's so good though. The ping of an M1 Garand has never sounded better, while the pops of a Grease Gun give you the strange warm feeling that you only get while playing WW2 shooters.
