10 Big Video Game Boss Fights That Were Total Letdowns

7. God of War III €“ Hephaestus

I€™ll begin by saying that I bloody hate the GOW franchise. Every time I play through one I have to open all the windows to try let the stink of quick-time events and lose Greek mythology out of my house. However, I will say that there are some pretty gruesome battles and it€™s hard not to find gouging some beast€™s eyes out entertaining. But the fight €“ if one could call it that €“ against Hephaestus was so anti-climactic it€™s untrue. You see him chained up and you think to yourself: €œBoy, if he broke free he would squish me like a bug, so I better not make him cross€. But that squishing day never comes. When you finally do battle with him, it€™s just one quick-time event to block an attack, and then slash a shrine of some description that causes a massive spike to stab him in the chest. Then it€™s swiftly over, like an inexperienced sexual partner. What perplexes me is the boss battles are pretty fleshed out and last longer than eating packet of crisps, beside this one.
