Pokemon has been around since 1996, and in that time has racked up a respectable 13 main game for Nintendo's various handheld consoles. That's no problem. The problem comes with everything else: there's two trading card games, two pinball games, three Ranger spin-offs, six console efforts, five dungeon crawlers, and an assortment of almost 20 other quirky titles like Pokemon Snap (where your goal is to take pictures of the Pokemon like you're at a nature reserve) and Pokemon Dash (a racing game) and even a few PC games. Thankfully Pokemon as a franchise isn't as in your face as something like Call of Duty, but it's still a ludicrous amount of mileage to get out of something that's not even been around for 20 years yet. It'll be interesting to see if the bubble ever bursts, though given the ridiculously huge and dedicated fanbase, I wouldn't count on it anytime soon.
