2. Breaking Through Censorship

This victory doesn€™t get enough credit. Websites and forums such as Reddit, NeoGAF, and The Verge have attempted to stifle the discussion of the GamerGate scandal (Wikileaks commented on their Twitter about this). However, this consequently lead to the initial growth of it, allowing platforms to be opened for gamers to discuss the issues such as 8chan€™s /gg/ and /v/ boards, the Escapist thread, and most predominantly, Twitter €“ where the heart of GamerGate lies. Despite Twitter being where most of GamerGate takes place, many people have denounced GamerGate as an 8chan (Previously 4chan) conspiracy group. The owner of 8chan, Frederick Brennan, recently tweeted in response to this: €œI am not the leader of #GamerGate. I am the leader of an intl. free speech friendly board. Our policies are not the policies of #GamerGate.€
