10. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 3

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed follows Starkiller, a secret apprentice trained by Darth Vader to overthrow Emperor Palpatine. 

Based on this premise alone, The Force Unleashed garnered a lot of hype. Sadly, the two entries were let down by repetitive gameplay, short campaigns, and some technical hitches.

Nevertheless, it was a shame that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 3 got Order 66-ed, since the previous instalment ended on a major cliffhanger. In Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2's canonical ending, Starkiller imprisons Darth Vader and prepares to have him transported to Dantooine, oblivious that Boba Fett is following his ship. Even though the sequel's story was criticised for its clone-heavy plot, the ending set up a seriously interesting follow-up to the planned trilogy.

Sadly, while Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 3 was considered, everything fell apart when Disney shut down LucasArts. 

According to head writer and creative lead Haden Blackman, the threequel would have offered co-op play, with Starkiller reluctantly joining forces with Vader to put a stop to Emperor Palpatine. Blackman had also envisioned the series evolving into the open-world genre, which would've made The Force Unleashed 3 the first true open-world Star Wars game - presumably a full decade before Star Wars Outlaws received that honour in 2024.

Based on the negativity The Force Unleashed 2 received, though, it might be for the best that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 3 got canned. Having said that, it would've certainly been cool to team up with the baddest Sith in the galaxy.
