10 Changes That Must Be Made To WWE 2K26

From adding wrestlers to deleting game modes entirely, how can WWE 2K26 improve on 2K25?

Much like many of WWE's previous annual video games, WWE 2K25 has largely been a success amongst fans. Some players love the new features, such as The Island, and new matches like Underground and Bloodline Rules, while others have gone back to familiar favourite game modes like Universe and MyGM. That being said, there is always room for improvement going into next year.

As with anything in the wrestling business, fans will have no shortage of opinions on ways to better things for WWE 2K26. Many players would be quick to make recommendations that are simply impossible, such as allowing for an open library of custom entrance music or the inclusion of AEW's roster, but there are still a number of actual welcome changes that could be made by WWE, 2K, and game developer Visual Concepts.

Wrestling games have a unique position, being similar in play to other sports games but also having the entertainment aspect that allows for much more creativity. And this is something that WWE and 2K should be leaning into in the coming years, by doing things that other sports games simply cannot.

Whether it's adding more celebrities to the roster, adding new game modes, or fixing some common issues, these should all be the focus in the coming months as we start to gear up for WWE 2K26 next year.

10. More Celebrity Wrestlers

Since the Paul Levesque Era of WWE began, especially with Monday Night Raw's launch on Netflix, there has been an increased focus on celebrity involvement across the company. It has gotten to the point where each episode of weekly television has its own ‘the stars are out’ segment to highlight the famous people in the crowd.

That sentiment has bled over to WWE’s video games, with recent years seeing the inclusion of singers, entertainers, and athletes from across various sports. What started as one or two celebrities who have a history with WWE, such as Mike Tyson or Mr. T, has increased in recent years, and while gamers may not have been too excited when 2K announced the cast of The Pat McAfee Show, Jalen Brunson, and Tyrese Halliburton being included, there is a clear positive coming out of these moves.

While the true impact may not be quantified, having NBA Finals spending time discussing Indiana Pacers' star Haliburton being in WWE 2K25 will surely bring new eyes and players to the game. With the focus on celebrity involvement, adding stars who have stepped in the ring like iShowSpeed and Jelly Roll, or even just celebrity fans such as Vanessa Hudgens and Gabriel Iglesias, could give WWE 2K26 an added boost next year.
