5. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Let€™s face it, while the Wii had some great games, many of them were buried under piles of mini game collections, shovelware and Wii Fit knock offs, and Metroid Prime 3 was one of those sadly neglected games. Continuing the Prime series€™ staple of eerie isolation, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption has a sense of atmosphere that still makes it feel like an entirely unique take on the first person shooter. The game€™s haunting locales and great use of minimal story set it apart from its contemporaries and make it a highly enjoyable and refreshing experience from start to finish. The tight gameplay combined with some great pointer controls, gave us a glimpse into what could have been a glorious Wiimote FPS future. Sadly that was a future that never materialised. This game was not only the best shooter on the Wii, but one of the best FPS€™s of the generation, and if you have a Wii U or an old Wii lying around, you owe it to yourself to play through this forgotten classic.
