Edgar Rosss betrayal and John Marstons death are two things I never saw coming as I played through Red Dead Redemption; even to this day I still dont understand why Ross turned on John Marston. Williamson is killed as requested, Dutch is no longer a threat, his gang is wiped out and the bank is protected. To me this is more than enough to have his wife and son returned to him and be allowed to live in peace. However, Ross doesn't seem to see things the same way as me and plans an assault on Marstons ranch. What makes this betrayal all the worse is Rosss apathy towards the whole situation. As Marston is being gunned down hes casually lighting a cigar in the background. Even when he is tracked down years later by Marstons son, he is still indifferent to the killing of John and states that hell gladly kill Jack as well. Thankfully everyone will eventually pay for what they've done.
