10. Death's Gambit
This upcoming action RPG will take you on an exploratory journey across an alien, medieval-inspired planet as you step into the shoes of an Agent of Death. Your hero is bound to the services of Death, and sent on a mission to defeat supposedly immortal beings as you endure the struggle at the heart of Leydia.
Death's Gambit looks hard, as in Dark Souls hard. Your agent will be equipped with an immense arsenal of blades and a trusty grappling hook to allow him to scale cliffs and creatures alike, but the early footage of the game shows these enemies dealing some truly devastating blows in battle. The combat seems to hearken back to classics like the Return of the Jedi's platforming adventure, but with an RPG twist.
Death's Gambit also looks immensely appealing. The pixel-art graphics are an instant draw, but the levels of gore and bloodshed that populate the combat sequences are staggering for a game of this type. It looks like one of the most involved indie side-scrollers of recent years, and is going to be one heck of a challenge to boot.
