10 Forgotten Gaming Franchises That Must Return At E3 2015

The biggest event in all of gaming always has the best surprises.

June really can't come fast enough, as with the last year in gaming only throwing up a couple of notable big-budget releases - Shadow of Mordor and Bloodborne - all eyes are on this year's conference to show off some fantastic IPs we know are going to be there, alongside those shock first-showings that everyone loves to lose their minds to. Considering last year had the return of one Phantom Dust (Not heard of it? Neither had most of the auditorium, but essentially it's a card-based fighter repurposed as a third-person blaster), it basically means anything's up for grabs - and although that's going to mean plenty people start screaming things like Half-Life 3, Fallout 4 or The Last Guardian, how about we keep this one within the realms of possibility? It goes without saying that the industry is lacking in variety right now - especially when you look to the upper echelons of production - but if you turn back the clock even a few years we had everything from platformers to racers, first and third-person shooters and everything in between for years on end. Plenty of these titles made one hell of a mark either through nostalgia or the cumulative effect of inbuilt charm, memorable character(s), a brilliant premise or all three - now it's just down to the people at the top to wave their magical finance-wands in the right direction.
