10 GameCube Games We Need To See On Nintendo Switch
10. Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a gaudy and glorious celebration of one of gaming’s most enduring franchises. The game picks and chooses tracks from the series’ storied history, providing an immense collection, along with the usual spectacular multiplayer and highly competitive online action.
But is it the best Mario Kart ever? There’s a strong argument to be made that this accolade goes to the much loved GameCube iteration. Double Dash!! is a wild ride, with the added quirk of dues racing, two characters piled onto the back of each kart and set off on the usual bevy of wild courses.
This wrinkle added another layer to the multiplayer fun - co-operative mode, with one player steering and the other hurling shells, bananas, and the rest. It made for deliriously unwieldy play - a sudden switcheroo meant you’d go from offensive action to driving, and you’d better be ready for it.
It’s the most chaotic game in the series, and bringing online play to the party would be the cherry on the cake. We’ve had a few courses make their way to Switch, but there’s more to Double Dash!! than the brilliant/ridiculous Baby Park.
