10 Gaming Glitches That Will Totally Freak You Out

3. Stalker Watson - Sherlock Holmes: Nemesis

There's always been a strange tension between Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson - one that many will presume is steeped in latent homosexuality - and that reaches a fever pitch in this pretty naff video game, Sherlock Holmes: Nemesis. Proof of its crappiness is evident from early on, where Watson is at your side, but the developers appeared not to have created a walking animation for the character, instead having him move whenever your eye is not on him. Stare at Watson and he will not move, but avert your eyes for even a second, turn back, and he will be mere inches away, in much the same way as Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees incredulously manages to. It's really pretty unnerving; as someone who has been raised on FPS games - and therefore primed to keep vigilant when playing any game from a first-person perspective - I just can't stop myself from jumping whenever I see Watson appearing from behind a door or jumping into my field of vision. It's difficult to see how the developers could have seen it any differently apart from being really, really lazy.
