The original Star Fox was a revolutionary game for its time, with the cartridge boasting a much-ballyhooed graphics accelerator chip, which allowed the game to become the first to display full 3D graphics. Though by contemporary standards the game was all style and no substance, it's still a total blast to surge through, and of course, its huge success meant that gamers wanted a sequel as soon as possible. Star Fox 2 was supposed to be released in 1995, though Nintendo unexpectedly ditched the game, apparently because the N64 was gearing up for release and it was felt that development would be better off devoted to that platform. Frustratingly, the N64 ended up being delayed to such an extent that Star Fox 2 could have been released. Instead, the game lives on in ROM form, easily available with a quick Google search if you are so inclined.
