10 Hidden Gems On Nintendo Switch
4. Trüberbrook
Trüberbrook is one of the most visually stunning adventure games ever created. The game is set in rural Germany in the 1960s, and features an American physicist by the name of Tannhauser coming to the sleepy town of Trüberbrook.
Tannhauser doesn't remember entering the competition he won to come to Trüberbrook, but he accepted the trip nonetheless. The people in the area are odd, but no more so than those in any other isolated township. On his first night there, Tannhauser wakes-up to find someone in his room, stealing from his briefcase! He sets out to find the thief, and joins forces with fellow newcomer-to-town, Gretchen.
From there the story twists as it takes Tannhauser down a rabbit hole of government conspiracies and town secrets. And it does so in gorgeous environments like mountains, forests, lakes, research facilities, swamps, with jaw-dropping sunsets and ethereal snow.
As is the case with any point-and-click adventure game, you'll find yourself picking-up seemingly random objects that will be necessary later on, but the game never delves into sheer obscurity. While it certainly has its own sense of humour, Trüberbrook is a lot more straight-laced than titles like Stick It To The Man or Thimbleweed Park. And the ending is just a little mind-blowing.
