10 Highest-Rated Video Games Of The Decade - Ranked Worst To Best
8. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Metacritic: 96
If you wanted to be harsh, you could definitely make the case that 2011’s Skyrim hasn’t aged too well. Graphically, it’s now well behind competitors, its open world doesn’t feel as living as others and the combat has been bested by those that followed.
At the time though, Skyrim pushed the limits to the max and deserves huge respect. It deserves its spot as Metacritic’s 36th best game of all time, even if others stood on its shoulders afterwards to climb higher.
Re-released so many times for so many different platforms this past decade, it’s a surprise that it hasn’t come to the Tesco self scanning machines yet. As much as ‘I took an arrow to the knee’ and ‘you’re finally awake’ have become memes, the game itself should be recognised as one of this decade’s clear standouts.
There’s so much to explore and so many Easter eggs that even after playthroughs racking up hours well into triple figures, you won’t have seen it all.
