10 Hotly-Anticipated Video Games You Probably Won't Get To Play This Generation
10. Halo 6
Likelihood: 6/10
Although we’re currently over two-thirds into the latest Master Chief trilogy, after the middling response to Halo 5 it looks as though developer 343 Studios could be taking a bit longer than anticipated to craft the perfect ending to their saga.
Because, while a good chunk of the fanbase enjoyed the latest offering in the series (the multiplayer component especially went down a storm), it’s clear that the main narrative left much to be desired. Marred by mixed messages and plain old false advertising, it wouldn’t be a surprise if 343 took a few years out to give players a truly meaty campaign to make up for Halo 5's lousy excuse for one.
However, with that said it wouldn't look good for the studio if they were only able to complete one game every new console generation. With Halo 4 on the Xbox 360, 5 on the One and 6 on the Scorpio, this latest trilogy could be seen as a mismatched failure.
So while having Halo as a launch title on the next wave of consoles would be a huge win for Microsoft, it’s just as likely that 343 will finish their trilogy on the current generation before moving onto new and exciting adventures for the Project Scorpio.
