10 Iconic Nintendo Games You Must Replay

It's not all about Super Mario, you know...

By Kristian Webb /

Nintendo are without doubt one of the biggest names in gaming - even given the poor sales of the Wii U - and over the years they have released some of the most iconic games featuring legendary characters.

Granted, it hasn't all been great. Picking a totally random example, Metroid: Other M was a total waste of a great character. Samus looked utterly brilliant but the naff voice acting and paper thin plot made for a game most didn't finish the first time, never mind the idea of returning for another go.

There will be some VERY obvious entries on this list, but that's to be expected when we're talking about endless replay value. Also note I will only be discussing Nintendo exclusives, so Perfect Dark Zero sadly won't be making the list.

Honourable mentions include: The Wind Waker, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Bros and Banjo-Kazooie, but they just didn't quite make the cut, given such stiff competition.

Let's get started:

10. The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time

99.9% of the time, this title is top of the list no matter the subject. Best game ever? Best Story? Best of the best ever, without debate? Whatever the list, Ocarina of Time has stood up to every other adventure game on the market and put them in their place.

Just in case you haven't ventured through Hyrule's finest entry; the evil Gerudo Ganondorf puts into motion a series of events that cripple the massive open world and you are tasked with undoing it across time itself.

I can't express in any more in just how truly brilliant this game is, and the replay value is endless. There may only be one ending, but there are so many side quests to keep you occupied away from the said main quest, you have no chance of getting bored.

Replay highlight: Finally getting your hands on the Ice Arrows by beating the Gerudo Training Ground OR the intensely difficult Master Quest. Take your pick.
