8. Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway - Gearbox

Gearbox has a weird reputation in 2020. On the one hand, they're the people responsible for the beloved Borderlands series, but they're also the villains who gave us the utter trainwreck that was Aliens: Colonial Marines, and Duke Nukem Forever.

In between those big properties was Brothers in Arms, the World War 2 shooter that really launched Gearbox to success in the 2000s. Sadly, it hasn't had the same pop-culture staying power as the likes of Medal of Honor, which is a huge shame because the final instalment, Hell's Highway, was a killer war game that told a surprisingly human story.

Sadly, it came out at a time where the world had gotten well and truly sick of WW2 shooters, and even its gripping, cinematic story and gritty squad-based firefights couldn't pry players away from the clutches of Call of Duty 4.

Hell's Highway deserved way more attention, and it sucks that we've gone a whole generation without a proper follow up.
