It may be another of Nintendos lesser-known series', but Punch-Out should still prove a big hit on mobiles. The control scheme of the NES original may have been simplistic, but it was also one of its main charms, helping the game become one of the best-loved boxing titles in video game history. This simplicity, based on just moving left and right and perfectly timing punches would also transition easily to smartphones. Nintendo's decision to include Little Mac, Punch-Out's starring character, in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS clearly demonstrates that it wants to continue supporting the series, another factor in favour of a mobile release. The Time Attack mode introduced in the SNES version should also be retained as a great way of encouraging replay value. It doesnt matter if its on the NES, SNES, Wii or smartphone, gamers are sure to enjoy the challenge of reaching that final boss bout, and if Nintendo can let fighters go up against Mike Tyson as they did in the NES version, even better.
