10 Mind-Blowing Facts You Didn't Know About Hitman

10. 47’s Voice Actor Was Never Intended To Return For Absolution

David Bateson is the voice of the Agent 47 and to this day - unlike Sam Fisher and Metal Gear Solid's Snake - he remains as such.

However, that wasn't always the case, and IO Interactive actually didn't plan on bringing the poor guy back for Absolution.

The company were intending to use a generic American voice in his place. Footage of the placeholder voice is available online; it just didn’t do the character justice.

At first, David tried to get in contact with the company, but was greeted with silence. He kept sending more messages, yet to no avail. Nothing came of it, initially.

The voice actor wasn’t the only one who was shocked. When the fans found out about this exclusion, a petition was established in order to ask them the timeless question: "Seriously, what the hell are you doing?"

IO Interactive came to their senses and brought Bateson back for Hitman: Absolution. It's safe to say that, while it was certainly the black sheep of the game that has left the fans divided, the performances were absolutely stellar.
